Farjana Rahman Bhuiyan

Farjana Rahman Bhuiyan is presently serving as a lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry & Cell Biology in the Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) which is an enterprise of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh. With a Masters degree in Food & Nutrition under the University of Dhaka (2006), Bangladesh, She enrolled her Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) degree (Nutrition and Food Sciences) from Dhaka University (2012). A research work on ‘Effect of isoflavones on serum homocysteine and C-reactive protein levels in postmenopausal women’ is going on. Major research areas of Farjana Rahman Bhuiyan included Nutritional intervention, Glycemic Index of some commonly consumed Carbohydrate based foods, Diet related chronic diseases in developing and transitional economy, pathophysiology of prediabetes, subclinical inflammation and nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases in Bangladeshi population and Pathophysiology of diabetes and its complications. She has delivered Oral/poster in 06 regional/international meetings in various countries of the world. She also has been awarded with Fellowships/Grants of professional bodies/organizations including Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC). Ms Farjana has been organized Diabetes & Endocrine Conference and Public Health Seminar.
