Orientation Program for the first batch students held

The Orientation program for the September batch students of BUHS was held in the Malek Chowdhury Academc Bhaban on January 24, 2014. Students of different graduate and undergraduate programs were warmly welcomed with floral wraths. Students as well as Faculty members and employees were present in the meeting.

Prof Liaquat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of the University initiated the program with a brief history of the tedious journey (since 1990) to realize the dream of the first ever private University in the country dedicated to health related disciplines. He gratefully remembered National Prof Dr. Ibrahim with profound admiration for his visionary steps in founding the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh with an aim that no diabetic patient in the country would die untreated. In his inspiring speech, Prof Ali called upon the newcomers to be become empathetic in extending health care services in the future.

Prof M.A Bashar, Honorary Adviser, Dept. of Radiology & Imaging, Professor (Dr.) Sk. Akhtar Ahmad, Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Shah Md. Zahurul Haque Asna, Dean of Basic Science, Prof (Dr.) Asirul Hoque, Dean of Public Health, Prof. M.A Hafez, Dean of Allied Health Sciences, Prof Dr MSA Mansur Ahmed, Head, Department of Community Medicine, Prof Khursida Khanum, Head, Department of Health Promotion & Health Education, and few students among others addressed in the auspicious occasion and conveyed their heartiest felicitations to the students.

Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS, successor of BIHS) enrolled the batch with 25 graduate and undergraduate programs in health sciences in January 2014.
