BUHS Vice-Chancellor attended a Symposium in China

Prof Liaquat Ali, Vice-Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) attended a Symposium on ‘Exploring Traditional Medicine’ as a Speaker which was held on 23-25, September 2015 in Beijing, China

 

Speakers from 14 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe presented their papers on traditional medicine in the areas of clinical trials, acupuncture and moxibustion, public health and clinical trials.

More than 300 guests attended the event, hosted by the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and IAMP.

Among the high-level guests attending were a number of expert panelists from IAMP member academies, including IAMP co-chair Lai Meng Looi, IAMP Executive Committee members Fola Esan (Nigeria) and Depei Liu (CAE, China), Vincent Titanji (Cameroon) and Vijay Kumar (Sri Lanka).  The opening ceremony featured Daimang Fan, vice president of CAE, Boli Zhang, president of CACMS, Bernhard Schawartländer, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) office in China, and Wenming Yu, deputy director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM). The meeting synergized links between researchers and practitioners in traditional medicine around the globe.
